When an agent cannot register their email

When an agent cannot register their email

When an agent cannot register their email

Introduction

Nextere Central uses your email address as a unique identifier. To maintain security and data integrity, the system requires the registration email to match the invitation record exactly. This guide explains how to resolve this conflict.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the original Invitation Email.

  • Confirmation of which email address you intend to use as your primary login.

What do I do when the following message pops up?

Troubleshooting Steps

Scenario A: You want to use the email where you received the invite

  1. Check for Typos: Ensure you haven't added an extra space at the end of the email or misspelled a domain (e.g., @gmal.com instead of @gmail.com).

  2. Case Sensitivity: While most email servers are not case-sensitive, try entering the email in all lowercase to match the system record.

Scenario B: You want to change to a different email

  1. Login with Original Email: You must first complete the registration using the original email address sent by the admin.

  2. Update Profile: Once you have gained access to the dashboard:

    • Navigate to Settings or My Profile.

    • Edit the Email field to your preferred address.

    • Save changes and verify the new email via the confirmation link sent to that inbox.

Notes

Important Notes

Administrative Constraint: Agency Admins cannot change an agent's email address once the invitation is sent. The agent must take ownership of this update within their own profile settings to ensure security.

FAQ

1. Why can’t my Admin just change the email for me?

For security and privacy reasons, once an account shell is created, only the account owner (the agent) has the authority to change the primary login credentials.

2. What if I no longer have access to the original email address?

If the original inbox is completely inaccessible, the Agency Admin must Delete your pending user profile and Re-invite you using your new, correct email address.

3. I see a "User already exists" error instead. What does that mean?

This means you likely created an account in the past with that email. Instead of registering, try the Sign In page and use the Forgot Password link to regain access to that existing account.

4. Will changing my email affect my NIPR sync?

No, your NIPR data is tied to your NPN and SSN/FEIN, not your login email. Once you update your email, your professional credentials will remain linked to your profile.
