How to submit a contract request at Agent Level

Submitting a Contract Request (Agent Level)

Info
Submitting a contract request is a vital step in expanding your sales authority. This process allows you to request appointments with specific carriers for various Lines of Business (LOB) while automatically verifying your licensing compliance.

Prerequisites

  • An active Agent Profile.

  • Updated State License information (ensure your licenses are synced via NIPR).

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log In: Navigate to https://app.nextere.com/

  2. Open Contracts Menu: On the left-hand sidebar, click Contracts.

  3. Access Contract Requests: Click the Contracts sub-option on the right side of the screen.

  4. Define Request Details: Complete the following mandatory fields:

    • Agency: Select the agency you are contracting under.

    • LOB (Line of Business): Choose the relevant category (e.g., Life, Health, etc.).

    • Carrier: Select the insurance carrier you wish to be appointed with.

    • States: Choose the states where you intend to write business.

    • Contracting Status: Answer the prompt: "Are you already contracted with this Carrier?

  5. Verify Licensing: Click the View License button. A pop-up will appear showing your current license status for the requested states:

    • 🟢 Green: Active and valid license.

    • 🟡 Yellow: Approaching expiration date (action required soon).

    • 🔴 Red: Expired (cannot proceed with contracting).

  6. Submit Request: Once all fields are verified and accurate, click Save.

Notes

Troubleshooting/Tips

  • Missing States: If a state is missing from your list, ensure your NPN record is up to date in your Profile settings before submitting the request.

  • Expired Licenses: The system may block requests for states marked in Red. Ensure you renew your license with the state department before submitting a contract request.

  • LOB Alignment: Ensure the selected Carrier actually offers the Line of Business you have selected to avoid administrative rejection.

FAQ

1. How do I know if my contract request was approved?

You can track the status of your request in the Contracts dashboard. The status will update from "Pending" to "Approved" or "Appointed" once the carrier and agency process your paperwork.

2. Can I request multiple states in a single submission?

Yes. You can select multiple states for the same carrier and LOB in one request. However, you must have an active license in every state you select.

3. What if I am already contracted with the carrier directly?

You should still submit the request and select "Yes" for the question "Are you contracted with this Carrier?" This allows the platform to link your existing production data to your profile.

4. Why is the "Save" button disabled?

This usually happens if a required field is missing or if you have selected a state where your license is recorded as Expired (Red).
